Text messages from Rover: how members opt in

Rover by Renested texts only its own paying subscribers, and only after they turn it on inside the app. This page shows the exact screens, because the app itself is behind a member sign-in at app.renested.ai.

The opt-in, step by step

  1. A subscriber signs in to the app and opens Settings → Pings, voice and theme.
  2. They enter their own mobile number and receive a one-time code by text. They type the code in. Until this succeeds, no number is stored as reachable.
  3. They tick Text message, which is off by default, under the disclosure shown below. Nothing is pre-ticked.
  4. They press Save. From then on Rover sends them account notifications and replies to their own texts. They can untick the box any time, or reply STOP.
